Formal assessment to evaluate articulation/speech skills, language skills, stuttering skills, and/or augmentative and communication (AAC) skills. Informal observations and parent input will also be included. This includes a comprehensive written report and recommendations, including a diagnosis and goals, if appropriate.

After a plan and goals are developed and agreed upon by the SLP and parent(s), we will work with your child towards meeting the established goals, including parent involvement during sessions.  Most children receive therapy 1-2 times per week for 30-60 minutes depending on their individual needs. 

We are play based and neurodiverse affirming. We work with children who are analytic language processors (ALPs) as well as gestalt language processors (GLPs) and if you don't know the difference between these two, that's OK! That's what we're here for. 

Emily has worked with students with complex communication needs (CCNs) for over a decade in the State College area and have built augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems from the ground up. She has worked with a team of parents, the student, OT, PT, special education teacher, and general education teacher to make it successful. AAC is a very dynamic process and changes over time. She is ready to be another speech therapist in your life and to help you or your school team make communication successful for your child.
